Parent and Toddler Lesson

The first step in our swim school is our Parent and Toddler lessons.

Children can enroll in our school to begin their swimming journey with us once they are 4 months old.

The lessons run weekdays between 9:30am and 3:00pm. Lessons last 30 minutes. In the early stages children are grouped by age and lesson times are the same each day. Parents are required to be in the water with their children until the children are 3 years old. At this stage they may graduate into the Dolphins lessons (Marked with * in the table below.)

Monday - Friday

9:30am - 10:00am

4 - 12 months

10:00am - 10:30am

12 - 18 months

10:30am - 11:00am

1.5 - 2.5 years

11:00am - 11:30am

2.5 - 3.5 years

11:30am-2:30/3pm

3 - 4 years*

*From the age of 3 children are able to go into the water on their own. There is no hard and fast rule that as soon as the child passes their 3rd birthday they must instantly go into the Dolphins lessons, both the parent and teacher will need to agree they are ready before they move up.

When in Parent and Toddler lessons the ratio is 1:8. When children move into Dolphins the ratio will lower to 1:4 (2 teachers will be in the water with 8 children and lessons will run simultaneously)

Lessons cost £6.75 per session and must be booked termly. There are no lessons during school holidays although 1 to 1 sessions are available for an additional cost for children in the Dolphins sessions.

Children are required to wear a swim nappy which can be purchased on site until they are toilet trained to minimise the chance of any accidents in the water.
