HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Our high quality OFSTED registered holiday camps are designed to give children the oppurtunity to create new friendships, experience new sports and most importantly stay active during the school holidays.

Children spend long ammounts of time glued to screens and devices. This holiday camp gives them the opportunity to switch off, get active, learn new skills and enjoy eachothers company.

The camps are for children aged between 7 and 14. This means not only can all attendants go swimming each day, but all children are of a similar age. Some holiday clubs have ever increasing age brackets, meaning older children are expected to play with children significantly younger then them which can be detrimental to their enjoyment levels. On the other hand the younger children often struggle to keep up with the pace and can find the day too taxing and therefore get upset. We minimise this by keeping the age bracket small to ensure all children are of a similar age.

Please be aware only children aged 8 and above will be able to use the pool during the Holiday Activity days. This is in accordance with HSE health and safety regulations.

Although the days are based around sports we aim to create a safe and supportive environment in which your child can flourish. They will be taught the benefits of teamwork, social skills and patience, as well as values such as fair play, honesty and integrity. These skills will constantly be reinforced through the points system. At the start of the week the children will be split into teams, and throughout the week they will be able to earn points. The points will be awarded not only to children or teams who win different games, but also to children who demonstrate great values, being a good role model to the others and excellent behaviour.

The camps are run by fully qualified and experienced staff who are DBS checked. As we are OFSTED registered we are able to accept childcare vouchers as payment, please email us at leisure@wildern.org if this is something you would like to do and we can advise you on how to book.

We have extended our hours to include 8:30am drop off and 4:30pm pick up to allow parents who work to drop their children off before work and collect them afterwards.

Children will be introduced to a huge variety of sports during the week. A sample day structure may be:

8:30-9:00am  Drop Off Reception
9:00am-10:00am  Warm Up Games Sports Hall
10:00am-11:00am  Ultimate Frisbee Field

BEHAVIOUR POLICY

Children are expected to adhere to our behaviour policy whilst they are in our care. We have a simple 3 step approach.

  1. Warning
  2. Second warning and removal from the situation
  3. Phone call home.

If the behaviour continues after this third step we reserve the right to ask parents to collect their children.

There is a strict zero tolerance on bullying, swearing or dangerous behaviour.
